When Indiana Jones discovered the location of the Ark of the Covenant in “Raiders Of The Lost Ark”, it was correctly believed to have been the greatest archaeological discovery in human history. This artifact, a box that contained the stone tablets of the 10 Commandments that Moses received from Yahweh on Mt. Sinai, was the most sacred item ever created. It was SO revered that its disappearance has confounded historians, theologians and archaeologists for millennia. How could something as important as this disappear from the face of the earth? Did it ever exist in the first place?
People have speculated as to its whereabouts for years: It’s buried beneath the Temple Mount! It was found by the Crusaders and they’re keeping it hidden! It was hidden beneath the Mount of Olives just before the Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D! It is buried near the Dead Sea! Nebuchadnezzar took it with him when he destroyed the 1st Temple in 587 B.C.E and brought it back to Babylon (modern-day Iraq)! The Freemasons and Illuminati have it safely hidden with all their other treasures that are many floors below Trinity Church in New York City! (Okay, I might have made up that last one.) For some strange reason, nobody wants to allow the Bible to pinpoint its location. For the life of me, I have no idea why…because it does.
The Bible makes it absolutely clear where the ark is currently located. It tells us how it will be discovered. It tells us how this will be announced to the world. And, when it’s discovered, it will be brought to the Temple in Jerusalem, so we know that this discovery is not imminent. Prior to its discovery, the 3rd Temple will have to be built upon the Mount of Olives and THEN the ark will make its appearance once again. So even though scripture does not pinpoint the exact day of its discovery, once the Temple is built, we can watch for the events prophesied in the Bible that will result in its discovery. In other words, both of these events will occur within the next 15 years.
Fifteen years. Do you understand how short a period of time that will actually be? But, how can we know for certain that what I just wrote is true?
Solomon.
In an earlier post to this blog, I pointed out how Solomon described Biblical “dark sayings” in Prov. 1:6, as “enigmas” or riddles. In other words, certain hidden secrets within the pages of the Bible contain these riddles which can and WILL be solved. To give us directions as to how to begin to solve these riddles, or dark sayings, he turned our attention to the writings of his father, King David, who was the primary author of the book of Psalms. David was the only other author of any books of the Bible who ALSO used the expression “dark sayings”. Many people understand that the Psalms are actually lyrics to songs that were sung on various occasions. But Solomon opened the door to our understanding by revealing that the words in the book of Psalms are actually prophesies, not just lyrics.
Which brings us to Psalm 68. In my KJV Bible, this chapter is introduced with words that precede verse 1 which say “A prayer at the removing of the ark”. Once you see what the text of chapter 68 actually says, you’ll realize that this introductory comment would only be correct if it meant “removing it from its hiding place”. All of chapter 68 actually describes the DISCOVERY of the ark, not the removal of it. And the first announcement of its discovery begins in verse 3.
Psalm 68:3–“But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before Elohim: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.”
An important literary tool used in Hebrew writing is repetition. Since authors did not have punctuation or capital letters LIKE WE DO TODAY!!, in order to emphasize any important point, they repeated it. Then, to make a point that demands even greater emphasis, it’s repeated a 3rd time. What did David just write in verse 3? He told us to be glad, to rejoice and to exceedingly rejoice. The only reason he would have expressed this thought three times is if it was something very, very special. What was it?
V. 4–“Sing unto Elohim, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.”
There are several mistranslated sections of this verse which prevent the reader from comprehending what was just written. Specifically, the expression “him that rideth upon the heavens” is from the Hebrew words: לָ רֹ כֵ ב ָּ עֲרָ בת, “l-rkb b-orbuth” which literally means “for the ONE riding in the gorges”. Not only is there no gender of “him” in this verse, there’s not even any reference to heaven either! In fact, the Hebrew word that means “gorges” is found 61 times in the entire Bible. Its meaning is rendered as: plains, desert, wilderness, etc. But only in this one instance did they translate it as “upon the heavens”. They could not have been further from the truth.
Also, an entire thought that’s written in Hebrew is completely omitted in our English Bibles. It is this expression: מ ס שְׁ מ, “shm-u slu”, which translates to: “name-of-him make-highway-you”. In verse 3, David announced in triplicate that something marvelous occurred. In his next thought, he talks about building a highway (to allow visitors to see the site?) but there is no mention of this fact in the KJV Bible. Regardless of this omission, you cannot build a highway to heaven, so verse 4 emphasizes that what was found was located on the ground. What was this thing and how did they find it?
V. 8–“The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of Elohim: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of Elohim, the Elohim of Israel.”
An earthquake occurred which caused the item in the gorge to be revealed. Is that all that happened? No, it says that the heavens dropped. In other words, it rained. Was this just a normal rainfall or was it something more?
V 9–“Elohim didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.“
So this was a plentiful rain–or a HUGE rainstorm that occurred either during or immediately after the earthquake. Whatever was exposed from that event was covered in dirt until the rain washed it clean, revealing its presence. But once again, this verse is really poorly translated. The expression “thou didst confirm” comes from the Hebrew word “thniph”, or “shaking”. The root of this Hebrew word “niph” can be found in Isa. 10:15 as “mniph” where the person is using a saw. One would not “wave” a saw. You would shake it back and forth.
V. 11–“The Lord [adonai] gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.”
Or, in Hebrew: האדון נתן את המילה: גדול היה חברתם של אלה שפרסמו אותו “My Lord he-is-giving saying the-women-bearing-tidings host vast”. Well, at least we know which gender was better at spreading news even back in Old Testament times…. At this moment, something had just happened that was SO wonderful that Yahweh wanted this fantastic news to be spread as quickly as possible and he wanted MANY people [vast host] involved in publishing this news!
V. 13–“Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.“
The “ye” in this verse is not a person; it’s a thing. We already know that from verse 4 when IT was found in the gorge. And this thing’s physical description has just been told to us in great detail. Just what kind of object might have ever existed in all of history and just so happened to have had gold wings of cherubim on top of it? Isn’t it obvious?
After the earthquake, and after the rains fell, the ark of the covenant with the gold wings of angels has finally been rediscovered! Does the Bible mention where this event is to take place?
V. 15–“The hill of Elohim is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.”
Ladies and gentlemen, Bashan was a town located approximately 80 miles NNE of Jerusalem. The hills described in verse 15 only exist to the immediate west of Bashan. These hills provide a panoramic view of Israel, Lebanon and Syria, with the highest elevation of Mt. Herman at 9,232 feet. This property provides one of the most vital strategic defense sites for Israel even though it’s considered “disputed” territory today.
It is a place called the Golan Heights.
And that’s where the ark of the covenant is hidden until the earthquake shakes it from its hiding place by opening the gorge in the ground, the torrential downpour carves out the gorge, exposing this hidden object with gold wings covering it and then the announcement of its discovery is immediately spread throughout the world.
Is this the end of the story? Not quite. The Golan Heights may be where the ark is found but that’s where their bragging rights end.
V. 16–“Why leap ye, ye high hills? THIS is the hill which Elohim desireth to dwell in; yea, Yahweh will dwell in it for ever.”
The Golan Heights can forget about “leaping for joy”, because the ark will immediately be moved to the hill which ELOHIM desires to dwell in, which we know is the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem (spoken of in a moment in verse 22).
V. 18–“Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that Yah Elohim might dwell among them.”
The “you” in this verse is not a person. It’s the thing–the ark–which was just discovered. The Hebrew text does not say that it received gifts “for” men. It reads: בָּ אָ דָ ם מַ תָּ נת לָ קַ חְ ת “lqchth mthnuth b-adm”, meaning “you-take gifts in the human”, or human beings will bring gifts because of this discovery. If the humans were bringing gifts to another human, why would David have only mentioned that the humans were those who were bringing the gifts? If they were bringing them to another person, he would have written “you-take gifts from others”.
And, who were the people who brought gifts on this exciting occasion? Was it believers only? Or did other people also bring gifts?
“…received gifts… for [“from”] the REBELLIOUS ALSO“. Many people who will come bearing gifts are those who previously did not believe the Bible to be true AND those who rebelled against Yahweh’s chosen people, or the Arab nations. Even THEY will bring gifts to Israel in recognition of this moment. These will be the smart people. But not all of Israel’s enemies will follow suit. They will continue to hate Israel and still wish that they were all dead. And to them–BIG mistake!
V. 21–“But Elohim shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.”
“Shall wound” is the Hebrew word “imchtz”, which means “he-shall-transfix”, or “to smite through”. Those that continue to be rebellious to Yahweh’s chosen people, even AFTER this miraculous event, will have something driven through their skulls. Like I said, BIG mistake.
V. 22–“The Lord [adonai] said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:” Here we see that the ark will travel from the Golan Heights and be brought to the Temple in Jerusalem. The words “I will bring again” are from the Hebrew word “ashib”, or “I-shall-restore”. Restoring something to its rightful location is more significant that just saying you will bring again. The ark is returning to its place in the holy of holies. And everybody will be captivated by this moment.
V. 24–“They have seen thy goings, Elohim; even the goings of my El, my King, in the sanctuary.” The “goings” is a description of where it went–into the sanctuary, which means the Temple. And “they” at this moment would basically be the entire world as they witnessed the “goings” of the ark’s journey. Now, it’s time to party.
V. 25–“The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.“ Songs, music, dancers–this will be a celebration unlike the world has ever seen!
All over the world, people will rush to their churches to celebrate this joyous moment and they’ll be filled to overflowing.
V. 26–“Bless ye Elohim in the congregations, even Yahweh, from the fountain of Israel.”
In this one short verse, most readers would recognize only two references to a heavenly being, Elohim and Yahweh. But in fact, there are three. The fountain of Israel is the third and this is a direct description of Yahshua Anointed. It is HE who is this fountain, as revealed in the book of Revelation.
Rev. 21:6–“And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.“
The FOUNTAIN OF THE WATER OF LIFE is our Messiah, Yahshua Anointed. It is HE who has already saved all mankind, thus it is HE who is the fountain OF Israel, but he’s also the fountain of water to all people on earth, not just Israel.
The location that the ark was just delivered to is the Temple in Jerusalem, upon the Mount of Olives, and the FIRST person who will legitimately sit on that throne will be Yahshua himself, the fountain of Israel.
Earlier in this scenario, some people continued to rebel against Yahweh and they met their fate in a very gruesome way. The rest of the world will have gotten the hint after that.
V. 29–“Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.” The expression “kings” means “world leaders”, and all nations will arrive in Jerusalem, bearing gifts in recognition of this historic moment. Even the Arab nations will have a change of heart as they too bring gifts to their former adversary Israel. A worldwide complete change of heart will occur.
And when Yahshua returns, he’ll return to a rebuilt Temple that contains the most sacred item that signified Yahweh’s promise to his chosen people–the ark of the covenant, returned to its proper location in the holy of holies.
Fifteen years. Is anyone excited yet?
